Mr Ignorant here, don’t you need to have established residency in the neighborhood the school resides in to be eligible to play sports for them anymore? I don’t care one way or another
Millard South and OPS in general have open enrollment. It's how Central dominated BBall in their stretch, Westside had their FB run and now MS with theirs. Lincoln schools are also open enrollment. However if my kid went to SE and then transferred to NE, if he wanted to transfer again(which many have tried) they can only go back to their original school. In Omaha one could bounce around every year

On the surface this seems like great news regarding his future with Nebraska, but I can think of 3 players who've done this, and none of them ended up at the school they moved for. Nebraska previously had a DT with a french sounding name who moved to Lincoln from Texas I believe and ended up at LSU (Christian Lacoutre??? or something like that). Of course Raiola and an O-lineman named TJ Shanahan moved from Orlando to Austin for his Sr season because they got his dad a job during the pandemic and he ended up at A&M.

I'm assuming you're referring to Millard South formerly being the Indians (now the Patriots).

One of my favorite stories:
I took a Coaching Basketball class at UNL taught by Larry Ribble, former basketball coach at Millard South. He liked to tell stories. He was talking about the mascot change one time and he noted that they used to be the brave, valiant warriors and now they're just the people that took their land away.
Ribble was a great coach and a good dude.

He passed away last March.

Yes, Christian Lacoutre moved up to Lincoln after committing and went to Lincoln Southwest. He played with Josh Banderas. Watched them play a couple of times, and was always thought he underwhelmed. Remember attending a SE/SW game with former Huskerboard great aspeedlin and former Husker/SE Knight DJ Foster owning him so much the SW coaches moved him to weakside end to be no where near DJ.

The other great high profile recruit that moved to LIncoln I remember was David Oku. Highly ranked RB that enrolled to East and everyone was sure it was a sign that he'd commit. Turns out he fell in love with a girl that went there on one of his visits and went there for her basically. Ended up going to Tennessee for a couple of years before ending up at Arkansas State

I would have gone the rest of my days and never thought of this name again until now. Rep for that dig

I’ve heard rumblings but I don’t think it will get approved here in DC/DMV. It would be interesting to see how it would unfold particularly with DC and Montgomery Co. MD
