1st half statistics?

Does anybody have the full breakdown of statistics (mainly team but I'd like to see team and player stats) from the Cotton Bowl or know where I could fine them?

They would have them on huskerpedia.com at the botton of the page, or huskersillustrated.com, just click on the game and it will give you all the stats needed.

Checked both - they just give end-of-game stats. I'm having a disagreement with a friend of mine that we ran the football fairly easily in the first half, and he doesn't think so. If I remember correctly, the vast majority of our final rushing statistics were gained in the first half.

Well of the total yardage gained for the game, I believe that only 63 total yards came in the second half.

i believe sacks count as negative rushing yards, so be careful with just using total game stats. Here is a link to the play by play for the game. may take some time to sort through, but it should give you what you want.

one downside is that it doesn't identify screen plays, which some people count as runs.

Play by play

Just going through the play by play (after second half) I believe we gained 39 yards on the ground after halftime. That is not counting any losses on sacks. Strictly handoffs for gains, losses and QB scrambles.

quick sloppy addition says 53 rushing (from running backs) first quarter

30 in the second

18 in the third

14 in the fourth

I was counting the running plays and the running plays for loss-- no yardage on the sacks so I really couldnt' add those in even if I wanted (but most of those weren't intended to be runs, anyway).

Even if my numbers are a little off, it's pretty clear that running didn't get jack in the second half.
