Junior RB Mike Davis hearing from Huskers

2005 Prospect: Mike Davis

RB Mike Davis (5-10 208) of Columbia High School has the potential to be one of the top players in South Carolina for next year's recruiting class. Just ask his head coach, Kemper Amick. "He might be the best player I've ever coached," Amick said. "If there is a better player, I don't want to play against him." Davis runs a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash and also sports a 34 inch vertical. He also plays linebacker and is the team's kick returner. Amick said that Davis is the top player on the team in the weight room in team endurance and strength measurements. Davis is hearing from Clemson, LSU, Auburn, Penn State, Nebraska, and Virginia Tech.

2005 Prospect: Sadat Chambers

RB Sadat Chambers (5-11 180) of Central High School is hearing from USC, Clemson, Nebraska, Colorado, and Auburn. Chambers runs a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash and Central head coach Joey Mangum says his best attribute is his quickness. "He's got great explosion on the first step. He's got the speed to bounce outside. Just real strong and very hard working," Mangum said. Mangum stated that he plans to use Chambers at quarterback and running back next year. Chambers finished with 1,031 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season. He also rushed for 202 yards in the state championship game...Also from Central DB Ray Davis (6-2 180) and LB Craig Chambers (5-11 224). Davis is devoloping into a good player according to Mangum. "He's tough and athletic. He also plays linebacker and wide receiver. He's our main receiver in the spread formation. He really has the ability to make big plays at wide receiver, " said Mangum. Davis finshed with 66 tackles, 6 sacks, and 5 INTs last season... Mangum calls Craig Chambers "the strongest player on our team." Chambers dead lifts 625, squats 450, and bench presses 300 pounds. "He's got a great combination of speed and quickness," Mangum said. Chambers finished with 71 tackles and 10 sacks last season. He also plays fullback and defensive end.

4.7-second time in the 40-yard dash,

He threw for around 2,300 yards and 21 touchdowns with only nine interceptions as a JR. also rushed for about 150 yards, helping his team to a 10-3 record and to the third round of the Florida state playoffs.
