At one point I heard they were trying for Virginia Tech or Florida St., if I remember correctly.

 
OMG!!! If we could get a Florida team to come to Tom Osborn field I think I would have died and gone to heaven. I don't know if they would ever accept but it would be awsome. You know a good question would be when was the last time a Florida team played in Memorial Stadium? Anyone?

FSU is the last "BIG" Florida team to play in Lincoln. Unless you are counting Central Florida

1985 They beat us 18 - 15 I'm 99% sure of the year.

Almost right. Nebraska did lose to Florida State at home 17-13 in 1985. Then the next year Nebraska beat Florida State 34-17 at home. Bowden was still getting his program off the ground and was willing to come into Lincoln two years consecutive for the exposure.

 
How about a strong SEC team like Georgia or LSU???

A home and away series would be pretty cool w/ a team like Greorgia!!!

 
I wouldn't mind an away game in Florida. I'm moving there here in a couple weeks and wouldn't mind at all being able to go to a game.

It was in 1985. NU lost 13-17. I was at that game. At least NU beat them 34-17 the following year.
