2011 KC Royals Youth Movement

As some of you know, I have been a huge Royals fans since the 70's. The Royals have pissed me off year after year and this year will probably be no different, but I really like the direction this ball club is heading. We are the youngest team in baseball and I am liking what I see in the young players. We are 4-1 with a 4 game winning streak. What I really love is the fighting attitude these players have. Of our 4 wins, all of them we had to win in the bottom of the 9th or in extra innings. So far so good....

However.....

With the great development of our young players comes the next thing....RETAINING THEM! I am so tired of the KC ownership not dishing out the money to retain these same players. I lost count to how many players we have brought up through the farms leagues only to not pay them to stay. Could these next few years FINALLY be the turning point where ownership wakes up and places the emphasis on retainability?

I sure hope to hell so!

Anyways....LET"S GO ROYALS!!!

Here at UNL we get FSN, so I've been watching their games, mainly just to see Alex Gordon, who has been tearing it up lately and hit his first homerun last night. Besides them being the youngest team like you said, I also heard that A-Rod is making almost as much as the entire KC team. KC's payroll is like $36.5M and A-Rod is making $31M.
