Too bad with the move to the Big 10 + 2, we won't have any Texas players on our roster anymore. Why even bother :dunno

Too bad with the move to the Big 10 + 2, we won't have any Texas players on our roster anymore. Why even bother :dunno

if anything it will be a slow drain if anything.. i dont think the coaching staff is gonna pack up and leave the area without a fight and i'm sure you'll get a couple kids every year... especially with a slightly weaker big 12.... kids wanna go where they wil be seen, heard, and play against the best...

An aside... when I see these lists I marvel that New York, with its huge population base, seems to never produce much in the way of football players. Any thoughts as to why?

But in all actuality, I think it has more to do with space and coaches.

There isn't as much open space in New York, at least in the metro area... So the predominant sport as mentioned is basketball.. second to that is baseball.. football, spare pro teams, is a distant third. Many schools can't afford the $ to maintain and purchase the land for a football field.. They can afford a gym and basketball court, but because the history has been basketball for so many years there are many many qualified and gifted basketball coaches but very few football ones.

Really, I think on the east coast you're more likely to find good players out of Baltimore/DC/Phili metros than New York.
