2016 Alternate Uniforms

Better not have iron on numbers again for the 3rd straight year. Also the numbers better not be Fricken shiny again. Get rid of the tire tread "fiber Web weave" stitching. Nobody outside of Germany thinks it looks good, Adidas. I think another throwback would be cool and would make most people happy.

Here's an idea...

How about absolutely no alternate uniforms at all. Just stick to the classic Home & Away Nebraska uniforms.

The alternate uniform thing has been nothing more than a marketing/recruiting gimmick.

 
They'll be some variant of the same stupid clownsuits they've had the last three years. Probably red again since they did black this year. Or worse, jump on the anthracite bandwagon.

Would rather see throwbacks but there's no anniversary of note to celebrate next year that I can think of. I guess they can do 45th anniversary of '71 but they might as well wait for 2021 when we play Oklahoma. I really thought they missed an opportunity two years ago to do an '83 throwback.

Here's an idea. Let's go away from Adidas all together. Their uniforms are trash and that thread design just looks odd. No Adidas uniforms are cool, and most Adidas schools are going away from it. I am shocked Miami (FL) went to Adidas and that company has ruined the Hurricanes unis. They have somehow even messed up the iconic U on their helmets, that thing just looks oddly placed now.

 
One of these helmets please. I would also like to see us go away from white and start using cream. Our Scarlet & Cream Basketball alternates looked awesome. It would help us get away from every NC St/Wisconsin.

That's obviously the point of it, and that should be something that is encouraged. If recruits pay more attention to Nebraska because they think the new uniforms are cool, then that should be encouraged. It gives more recruits a reason to look at us which is something we desperately need given our location.

Believe it or not, it matters very little what the opinions of this board are concerning manufacturer affiliations.

It boils down to $$$ and if you think that's not the case, I ask "What color is the sky in your world?"

If Spaulding were to come up with a sh*t-load of cash each year, you would see them as official outfitter.

I really don't think anything said on this board will sway any of the decision makers on this subject.

it's a gimmick that works. Recruits love them. Players love them. I give 0 sh#ts if older fans don't like them.
 
Mat Black. No stripes. Blackshirt skull and crossbones on sleeves. Red numbers. Mat black helmet and face mask. Red N.
