According to a source, the Memphis Tigers landing shooting guard David Wingett is looking more and more likely and news could come as soon as today.
Wingett is part of the class of 2018 after he reclassified from 2017. He played his post-graduate year at Bull City Prep where he averaged 25.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. The 6-foot-7 wing shot 74.5 percent from three-point range on 5 threes per game according to the Bull City Prep website.
Team Loaded, Memphis signee Isaiah Maurice's former AAU team, had Wingett run with them before it was clear he didn't need to play with them any longer. He averaged 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting well from three-point range.
Offers from Auburn, Eastern Michigan, High Point, Louisiana Tech, Missouri, South Dakota State, Stetson, Towson, UTEP and Wichita State have rolled in while 40-plus schools have sent out feelers about Wingett.
