To me, more than recruiting this really shows the talent we put on the field, because for the past few years we have out recruited both Wisconsin and Iowa.
Nebraska-5 players at the combine- average grade of 4.98
Wisconsin- 8 players at the combine- average grade of 5.18
Iowa- 6 players at the combine- average grade of 5.63
Northwestern-2 players at the combine- average grade of 5.4
Purdue -1 player at the combine- grade of 5.4
Illinois -1 player at the combine- grade of 4.9
UCF -4 players at the combine- average grade of 5.3
Bama- 14 players at the combine-average grade of 5.77
*reference point: Saquon Barkley was graded at a 7.4
I'm not saying that the average grade is indicative of how successful a team will be, but it does give insight into how our best players match up with the rest of the country. I don't think we need to match Bama's 14 combine invitees to compete with them, but I do think our star players need to start playing like stars. Thoughts?
