2025-2026 Portal Updates

Shocked its Thursday and have only had 1 hit the portal. Have to assume Rhule/staff has had meetings with most guys by now.

I mean we haven't even heard any rumors besides Dylan. And I think McGahee was rumored when it was decided he was redshirting.

It is a bit surprising, although I'm sure we'll see a few more. Lateef and Barney both had (since deleted) social media posts with songs titled "Leavin'" and "Moving On," and neither would be obviously referring to Butler. Although I do think Butler got into it with some of the WRs from time to time, so that's not entirely out of the question from Barney.

The Miami guys will be rumored to leave every offseason just because of our track record with Florida guys, although I still blame Covid and Frost more than anything else. But Barney at least has some smoke with the post, and it's not uncommon for the guys who decide to redshirt mid-year to be doing so to have more eligibility elsewhere.
 
I did not see Barney's post, but he was one that I have predicted that will leave. Just a hunch based on lack of touches and being a Florida kid.

At a certain point it's a money game, and Rhule seemed to make it clear that we'd be able to pay to keep the guys we wanted to keep. We'll see guys leave that are going to get more than we're willing to pay, but hopefully that's a "good luck" conversation and not someone we were really trying to keep.
