2025-2026 Portal Updates

I wonder if Ole Miss tries to turn the tables on this by showing receipts on LSU.
I would love it if they did. I would love this to turn into a chain of events where it shows many programs tampering and it ends up showing a huge spot light on the problem. Then, it would be nice if those universities put pressure on the NCAA to get control of it. But, that's a pie in the sky dream.

My only suggesting is to a have a rule that allows no agents for student-athletes, until they declare they are done with school and declare for the pros/draft.

It puts the tampering sanctions on the player and anyone else who gets involved (agents, coaches, family, boosters, etc).

If caught, penalize the tampering school and the player (1 year) and ban the agent (or person of contact).

If you cannot scare them away from tampering with harsh penalties, and then enforce it, nothing will solve it.

Agents are screwing it up and no accountability for them. Now we are hearing examples from coaches.

Players would then be wise enough to know about the portal rules and avoid the tampering.

It won't happen though, because it is always about "helping the players - teens/college student adults" as priority #1.

Oh well, just a thought rando

Imagine if your employer conspired with all the other companies in your industry to create rules about what you were and weren't allowed to do to seek employment.
