2025 Alternate Uniforms

I saw on X (Twitter) from a few different accounts that Scheels had accidentally posted the 2025 Nebraska alternate jersey.

Looking today it looks like they still have some of the items posted for a "Blackout".

I would have thought they might have displayed the uniform at Fan Day this past weekend but didn't see it.

Thoughts on a "Blackout" uniform and what game do we think it would be for?

It would be cool. It would be COOLER if the fans could wear black for that game but lord knows Husker fans just can't seem to get on the same page for that kind of thing.

PSU can get 100K to wear white. But we still have Husker fans wearing a tan carhart coat to games.

Yeah totally, if they're going to do a Blackout almost need to have T-shirts on the seats or something to get people to play along. Maybe at the gates as you come into the stadium they could hand them out.

Hopefully they announce things soon. Football is getting closer.

I've always felt alternate uniforms are a recruiting tool as much as anything. I don't think it has the effect it had 10 years ago when Oregon was the hot ticket item due to all their alternates but I think it's an attempt to make potential recruits excited and just another way to bring some sort of attention to the program
 
I don't mind alt's here and there. Just don't understand why the only thing they can seem to think of is, Hey, let's do black! So damn lazy and it sucks on top of that.

The way I see it is have 4 sets of pants, solid, striped for each color. Have an inverse helmet, red with white stripe and white N. Have a base uni like we do but have some options to play around with as well. You could even introduce a Block N for the helmet as well as the NU we had a couple years ago. Point is there are options while staying true to the base look.

As for alt games this year, didn't Rhule state before the '24 season there would be no alts for the '24 or '25 season? I'm quite certain he did.
 
I thought there was a leak of a player wearing the "alt" jersey which was just like the one honoring the 1997 team (fake mesh):

I think they've sold black jerseys every year. I also think if there were an actual alt uniform for this season, the athletic department would have done some tease for it already.
