Well except for the fact that ESPN's college football experts placed two Nebraska teams in their all-time Top 3, and Chris Fowler and Lee Corso appear in our very own Legacy Video, endorsing Nebraska as the best gameday experience and best fans in all of college football. You have to remember its eSECpn. Nebraska has never got much respect from that bunch of SEC lovers.
That doesn't detract from the fact that eSECpn has a negative bias against Nebraska and a favorable bias for the SEC a conference that they are also in bed with financially. Tired of having a 30 year oldnone of the teams mentioned in your post or this thread are in the sec.You have to remember its eSECpn. Nebraska has never got much respect from that bunch of SEC lovers. TO was a bland interview and Bobby Bowden was glib and funny.Even now they (Especially Danny Kannel) act like FSU was the dominate team of the 90ies and that's just not true when you look at the numbers and especially thedidn't we get enough of miami in "the u"?Well that ought to be depressing to watch.
this is cool though. but i wish they would do one on our run in the 90's. talk about the walk-on program, s&c program, the blackshirts, the pipeline. there is a ton there.

Actually, you do make a good point about all of the "former Nebraska xxxxxx" references. Let me toss in Richie Incognito as just one of the more current/irritating examples of that sort. Perhaps the references are made because the national media realizes that we are proud to claim that we have a relatively clean program, and that is their little dig to show that our program is as dirty as any. Your point about Adrian Peterson is a fine example of that double standard. I've no doubt that if he was one of ours, he would be referred to as "Vikings and former University of Nebraska running back Adrian Peterson." As for Lawrence Phillips......you'd think he was Charles Manson by all of the notoriety that he still receives today. That doesn't detract from the fact that eSECpn has a negative bias against Nebraska and a favorable bias for the SEC a conference that they are also in bed with financially. wound reopened. Why do we never hear of the '71 Neb vr Ok Game of the Century, the '95 Orange Bowl or the '96 fiesta Bowl. Why is LP always referred to as. "former Nebraska running back Lawrence
Phillips" when he was long gone from Lincoln when he committed his worst offences? Adrian Peterson is after all referred to as Vikings running back rather than former Oklahoma running back. I will reserve my final comments until I view the 30 - 30 piece. Unfortunately I'm not very optimistic.

See the post above yours. The "negative bias" against Nebraska is not a fact, and people outside the state might think the exact opposite. That doesn't detract from the fact that eSECpn has a negative bias against Nebraska and a favorable bias for the SEC a conference that they are also in bed with financially. I live in California. I remembered that Richie Incognito played at Nebraska. I'm sure the Nebraska media gave it a local angle.Actually, you do make a good point about all of the "former Nebraska xxxxxx" references. But every national news report I read or heard refered to Incognito as a Miami Dolphins player and the problems in the Miami Dolphins locker room. There was some speculation that the target of his bullying, Jonathan Martin, went to Stanford, which may have made him a little soft. Incognito also burned a few bridges at Nebraska. That he's an bad guy isn't ESPN's fault.
And those investigative pieces took up to 16 paragraphs to even get to Nebraska. But every national news report I read or heard refered to Incognito as a Miami Dolphins player and the problems in the Miami Dolphins locker room. Every report I read about Marten and Incognito made mention of Incognito's time at Nebraska.

but those are exposes on incognito. how could they not mention unl? and they are fair, he was kicked off the team. those 3 stories you pointed to seem to be demonstrating that he had been followed by trouble for his career. they are not just saying, "richie incognito, former cornhusker, is a bad guy."Paranoia would be if Nebraska wasn't being brought up in Incognito's story, but people perceived it to be happening anyway. It's clearly happening.
Paranoia would be people just a few posts back believing Richie Incognito is identified as a Husker as much (or more) than a Miami Dolphin as part of a national media bias to treat Nebraska players in a different and more negative light than other players.Paranoia would be if Nebraska wasn't being brought up in Incognito's story, but people perceived it to be happening anyway.
