80s movies that people would find offensive in 2017

I will start, Just One of The Guys.

Reasons people would pretend to be outraged if it came out today:

1. Female feels she can't get a fair shot at being taken seriously so she pretends to be a male

2. Yuppie wealthy white boyfriend

3. Horny younger brother that wants to lose virginity

4. High school guys acting macho and being bullies

5. Boobs are shown

Things they would have to change:

1. Teri files a discrimination claim against the school district she lives in, the case goes to the Supreme Court and in doing so she helps bankrupt the district but the good news is she's gets to publish her article on the schools cafeteria food being of poor quality.

Anyone got another?

Holy cow, great call on Risky Business! That movie would be rated NC-17 and there would be people protesting the theaters that DARED to show it!

Porkys would never even be made! Could you imagine the outrage! I can still remember staying up late to watch Porkys on Cinemax, I think.

Animal House would have a chance but clearly there would be some heavy editing to make some people happy.

Weird Science, another great call! Man, I assume it would have to be rated R today and that again there would be a certain crowd that found a lot of it offensive.

 
Just goes to show how people today have become so incredibly thin skinned. Seem like people look for an excuse to be offended. It's gotten to the point where people can't even discuss an issue without getting all offended.

Not quite movies, but there are plenty of Saturday Night Live sketches/characters that can't be done today because of political correctness. The obvious one is Pat (where you don't know if it's a guy or girl). The Ambiguously Gay Duo was also hilarious, but probably couldn't be done today.

 
I love the original Bad News Bears movie. But, holy cow, does it have language that most people would consider offensive in today's world. In the first 10 minutes of the movie, Tanner says "All we got on this team are a buncha Jews, spics, ni**ers, pansies, and a booger-eatin' moron."

 
Revenge of the Nerds is full of scenes that would be hated on in today's society (although it's one of my favorite movies from my childhood).

1. The Lambdas put video cameras in the Pi Delta Pi house (after a panty raid) so they can see the girls changing and sleeping in the nude (we've got bush!!).

2. The Lambdas and the Omega Mu (the fat sorority) need to use illegal drugs so they can have a fun time.

3. The Nerds having to open a traditional black fraternity at Adams University.

4. Lewis pretending to be Stan Gable so he can have sex with Betty Gable at the fraternity carnival. That's pretty much rape.

This was one of my favorite movies in college.

That movie was on HBO all the time when I was kid. It was a great chance to see some boobs on the TV screen.

This movie...if made today...would have to be basically a lifetime movie with a bit more "grit" and it would have to have a Q&A session with the actors after the screening with a big disclaimer about how if you need help you should talk to someone.

What about when Scott Howard (Michael J. Fox) has sex w/ Pamela (the hot blonde)? It's implied that he does it as the werewolf. That's beastiality!!!

Sidenote: I was always a Boof guy.

This is so true.

You know....it's strange though. We went through a long time when people on the big screen couldn't even be seen sleeping in the same bed. Then.....the 80s hit and these great movies were made. They really did have an interesting societal affect.

Now....it seems like society has become more and more relaxed with sexual issues and other social issues.

But....when it comes to movies, there are no movies like these made anymore in large part because so many people would find them offensive.

The 80s movies were a very special and strange part of movie history.
