Reality is, with an 6 team division, winning that is similar to what winning the old conference is like. The difference being that you may get lucky with your cross-division schedule in a way that allows you to "back into" a division title. Meaning, a team can lose head-to-head against a div foe, but still win the division if that foe had a harder cross-div schedule.Impressive, but without a conference title since 1999 really is misleading.
Football started when Bob Devaney was hired to Nebraska.Always curious why they pick the year they do.
They are a recent phenom, and were very mediocre before Dantonio resurrected them. 9-3 was a huge season for them before he came along.Wait...where is Michigan State?
Mediocre? They were garbage for 50 years before Dantonio with the notable exception of the one year Saban did well with them and he parlayed that into the LSU job. They are a recent phenom, and were very mediocre before Dantonio resurrected them. 9-3 was a huge season for them before he came along.Wait...where is Michigan State?
Marky Mark is really missing Narduzzi right about now ...Mediocre? Very true. We have 7 teams in our division alone, 1 less team than the entire Big 8 conference.Reality is, with an 6 team division, winning that is similar to what winning the old conference is like. Winning a conference champ isn't the same as it used to be simply due to the nature of larger conferences.
