Hello fellow HB....ers? Here is the deal (no small talk :) )

I've been pming Blackshirt for a while with the idea of a Nebraska Wiki. I've been thinking about starting one of these for some time, and he thinks it is a great idea, and currently is trying to see if I could get it hosted on this server. If not, I will apply for a wiki via wikia. For those of you unfamiliar with wiki's, if you've ever been to http://en.wikipedia.org , you know what a wiki is. What you might NOT know is that you can use wiki software on any server and make anything you want out of it! Wikis have a very easy-to-use, very flexible and open programming structure, and the catch is that anybody can edit a wiki. So basically, sometime I am hoping to start a wiki for all things Nebraska sports-related, and I would like some help! Blackshirt gave me permission to make a request to HB members for contributions once the wiki is up and running wherever. Keep in mind this is not advertising, but merely requesting your services to make the best Husker information source available on the web! :)

Here are some examples of wikis that aren't wikipedia (browse through them and see how in-depth they go and some of the things possible on wiki software):

The beauty of it is, anyone can contribute, even if they aren't an expert at anything. For example, say there was a page missing for the Nebraska Missouri "rivalry" details, or else a section of the page for 'The Drive' is inaccurate or MIA, you can edit them to reflect your best knowledge of the system. Now, there is always a chance that someone else might come along and further edit your work to achieve a higher standard, but you are still welcome to add any knowledge you would like! :D

OK guys, I put in a tentative request for a wikia wiki, I won't actually make anything until I hear back from Blackshirt, but I really hope to have it hosted by HB because I don't like the adsense that wikia puts in the code! Either way I think the chances of this happening are pretty good. :D
