A New Energy..Can You Feel It?

Today was the first time I smiled about NU Football in quite some time.
Same here, I had a sh*t eating grin on my face when I heard they fired Pedey, and that grin got a hell of a lot bigger when I heard TO was back at the helm...

I hope I get to see the game, instead of having to listening to it. I'm curious to see if all this is going to cause folks to react on saturday...

I wouldn't be suprised if I heard a little, "na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, goodbye" at the stadium...

Never the less, this is the most i've been amped about husker football in many moons...

as long as our next coach, who ever that might be, can get our team to look like this again...

I'm still amazed by Tommie's 75 yard run. That just put an exclamation point on that season...

I feel that aTm caught a bad break here. They were coming in when this team and fans were about as low as they could be, but now there is a resurgance seeming to take place and aTm may just meet the most inspired team we have been all year.
I think I said basically the exact same thing last week, :hmmph

I hope your hunch is better than mine. :)

GBR!!!

In the middle of all of this carnage that is Husker Nation a bright light is appearing on the horizon and you can see things slowly beginning to take a step in the right direction. Callahan and company are the next piece of wreckage that needs to go.

I am without question excited, but we were all "giddy" when we hired Callahan. Time will tell.

I sure as hell wasn't giddy then, but I am now and will be more giddy when BC is shown the door. Because of Pud and the dibacle 3.5 years ago is one of the reasons or what got the ball rolling to his demise as AD. He split the fanbase when he fired Solich and hired Clownahan. I guess Clownahan helped him reunite the fanbase, but it wasn't exactly what they had in mind.

I was listening to Sports Nightly last night and listened while they interviewed Barry Switzer. A couple of points from that interview I think people need to look at is the fact that you cannot compare OU to NU because the circumstances are completely different. Switzer was saying OU fell out of bed because they were losing the recruiting battle and OU kids were going other places to play ball. BULL$HIT!!!!!!!!!!! The reason OU fell out of bed was because Switzer cheated, and he got caught by the NCAA. Sanctions were placed on the program, and this is the reason they lost the recruiting battle. IMO, NU looks worse because we haven't had any santions placed on this program. Also, Switzer made an interesting observation saying Callahan isn't recruiting the right kind of players like TO did. He was insinuating that we're not getting the bread and butter NU homegrown kids in here like we used to. I think he might be right. There was a kid who had a bunch of yards for CU of all places that was born and raised a Husker.

I kind of boycotted the program 4 years ago when Solich was fired by not going to any games and not giving my donation to the athletic department. I'm as excited about this program as I was in 1993 when we saw true sophomore Tommie Frazier tear up Florida State thinking about the 94' season. Good times are back again as far as I'm convinced.
