A$$ whoopin or Tight Game?

Some people will not be satisfied until NU returns to the dominance of 70 to nothing blow outs.

I was there for many of those. But, I don't remember them.

I remember the 14-17 losses to OU and the 17-14 wins against OU. I remember the dropped pass in the orange bowl. I remember the Texas game this year. I remember more of the first Miami NC game than of the NC the next year.

Great football games are not blow outs. It is kind of sad to watch a blow out.

No, give me a close game any time. As a fan, I want to be nervous for my team's chances. I want to concentrate on every snap, every decision, every call.

A team that knows how to win the close games, that knows how to come back from its own mistakes, that's a championship caliber team.

But, that's just me. What does anyone else think?

A win is a win no doubt but there was never a better feeling than kicking Florida's butt and watching spurrier whine and mope. that was the best watch of all time

ou is one thing and those games are supposed to be tight. not iowa state and ku no way those games should never be close and you shouldnt want close games with them. i can see close games with texas miami ou maybe even an occasional cu or ksu. look at the south over recent years. you have more dominating teams and we all up here just look like a buncha average bird dogs. i dont want to be average anymore.

I have to agree with 95 here. Tight games against quality teams are great...they make football football. But in order for us to show who we are...we can't be playing tug of war with mediocre teams. I want National Championships and Division Titles and we just aren't going to get there struggling agianst crappy teams.

W or L I want it all but if getting the W is your security blanket than to each their own.

I have to agree. I always love close games and at the end of them I comment, "man that was a good game."

However, a$$ whoopin's still are fun. Especially when we're not expected to win. I too remember the close games of the past...but I also remember the 30-3 victory over CU last year. Which sparked the "Restore the Order" campaign and CU's downfall.

Close games are entertaining, but blow outs against good teams can bring your team out into the spotlight. Imagine if we had just slaughtered USC or Texas how great that would have felt? We would have had bragging rights for sure.

:clap Love the signature photo Darveaux! It's been a long time since I've been home to the Land of Corn. Is that a real photo of a real sign.

:yeah Thump who you should and go blow for blow with the good teams down to the wire. Never play down to an inferior team's level!!! :restore

why do people think that we ALWAYS killed people? do they not remember? even when we were at our best we still needed an illegal kick of a ball on the last play of game to beat MU or a punt return to beat KU.

wins are wins. end of story

I couldn't agree more. I love close games. I don't care if I'm watching a random high school team, close games are always a thrill. I think as a football fan, everyone wants close games; but when it comes to your team you want to show domination too.

No, when we were at our best, which was in 95, our closest game was 14 points. We blew everyone out that year, and Wazzu was lucky to come close.

that is considered by many to be the greatset team EVER. holding the current or future teams to that standard is not fair or realistic. the point is that great teams do have close games to average teams.
