Nebraska running back
Ameer Abdullah was selected to the Paul Hornung Honor Roll this week. He shared the honor with Indiana running back Tevin Coleman. The Paul Hornung Award is awarded annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The winner and his family will be honored January 28, 2014, at a banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville.
Abdullah rushed 24 times for 127 yards, and had three receptions for 31 yards. Those three receptions all came on the last drive of the game, including a play in which Abdullah made a reception, then fought off Northwestern tackles to secure a first down to convert the 4th-and-15 play. That play was darned near as amazing as the Hail Mary that ultimately won the game for the Huskers.
