Actual Spring Practice Updates

I think it has been mentioned a time or two. Taylor's sometimes looked like they have been played with on concrete I heard.

Steven M. Sipple@HuskerExtraSip 31mOne thing that caught my eye Monday was Maliek Collins (6-2, 300) playing some snaps at DE. Put a big move on a OT and went untouched to QB.

Thought ever seen Moss news that this could happen.
Collins at DE at that size? Wow, that could be interesting. Still, I'd like to have a rush end aside from Gregory, otherwise teams will just go away from Gregory constantly. We need a speed threat at the opposite end as well.

I highly doubt it's an every down move. Just an option in certain situations I think.

IIRC, it was done to give a break to the regular DE's. It would be something nice to throw in on film and in games to make the DC's plan for more.

It was pointed out in quite a few games over the years. I think Jessie Palmer laughed at it but couldn't knock it. They always had one in studio and never mentioned them being slick.

Armstrong said they were tough to grip. I'll go with his opinion.

“Last year they were kind of bulky and stuff like that, it was kind of hard to grip the balls and stuff like that,” he said.

I'd think a ball that's tough to grip would lead to more fumbles. Good thing we don't have an issue w/ those...
