Adidas buys Reebok

I'm sure as some of you have read, Adidas and Reebok are combining their companies of sorts to compete with Nike.

Since I'm not up on the sponsorship of Adidas and UNL, as well as anything to do with business, I'm wondering how this affects universities as well as pro athletes who have endorsements deals with these two companies?

The majority of NCAA football teams have contracts with Nike. Very few have Addidas contracts and even fewer have reebok contracts

Adidas has three really big players in College Football. The Big Red, ND, and the Vols. Are the Badgers still with them as well?

 
Yes Wisconsin is still with Adidas, as well as UCLA...I dont think it will make a difference at all since adidas bought reebok, not reebok bought adidas.

 
I believe Reebok is one of the chief NFL sponsors...coaches apparel, etc....big impact there.

Should not impact Husker athletics unless they decide to get out to fhte sponsorship business.

 
Yes, the NFL is where this news really matters. I am pretty sure all of the uniforms in the NFL are made by Reebok. The decision won't have an impact on college ball because of very little teams usuing reebok, but you could see some minor changes coming in the NFL.

 
Hey fellas... Adidas and Reebok will continue to operate as seperate companies. They will be working together on a new clothing line (shirts, pants) but still will be marketing shoes seperately.

Was this brought on because of Russia and China working together to beat the Americans in the Olympics?

 
As long as they don't try to change the uniforms again, it makes no difference to me...although I did like the jerseys, just not the white pants...Only in Nebraska, huh?

Didn't Tenn. change to those crappy looking uniforms also? Those were by far the worst pants ever. All white uniforms suck.
