No official link but posters are saying Stoops announced in the Big 12 Teleconference call AD will not play against Ok State in the upcoming Bedlam Game.

If he is not ready to play, then it is good that they are holding him out. No reason to reinjure the guy.

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson won't play in this week's Bedlam game at Oklahoma State.

 

Coach Bob Stoops made the announcement Monday during the Big 12 Conference's weekly coaches call.

 

Peterson suffered a broken collarbone in OU's Big 12 opener against Iowa State. Stoops said a recent scan didn't show enough progress in the healing that needs to occur before Peterson can be cleared to play.

 

Meanwhile, OSU coach Mike Gundy said his team needs to be prepared for a strong running game nonetheless. Gundy said he's been impressed with backups Allen Patrick and true freshman Chris Brown.

 

The 101st Bedlam matchup kicks off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Stillwater.

Actually, if OU somehow makes it to the CCG, I doubt Peterson will be ready to play in that game as well.

Even if he did play in the CCG, I don't think he would be as potent a player as he can be. In practice he's been running and that's it. I'm not sure he's been in the weight room, he's probably not getting many (if any) snaps in practice and his timing I would guess is off just a tad.
