Aggies have Calahan's home boy?

Predicted the Aggies would fall hard under Calahan south. Their personnel is set for an offense like Okie State, and he is trying to force the pro-set/WC offense. He won't be there pass 5 years, will he?

I am really surprised Bill Byrne made that hire, after seeing what happened at Nebraska with a similar experiment ........ :dunno

They're going down again this weekend on the road at New Mexico.

Kinda bums me out, I always had a healthy respect for the Aggies. And I HATE to see another program go through what we did.

His ego probably got the best of him.

When an AD is thinking to hire a head coach just remember: NFL head coaches do not make for good college coaches, Pete Carroll is an exception to the rule.

It also works in reverse for NFL owners, NCAA coaches don't usually make for great NFL coaches.

I thought Sherman was the boosters choice (hire)? I thought $ Byrne's only real hire was Franchione which at the time looked like a great move considering he was receiving Urban Meyer type accolades.

I agree. I really respect the Aggie fans. Their fan base is very similar to ours. Hate to see them lose the way they did but hopefully they get it turned around this season

A&M to me has been that one south school that was almost a mirror image of us with out the somewhat recent titles of course. They have great fans and their traditions are pretty sweet, and when they start their little swaying back and forth, damn I thought I was gonna get motion sickness(but it still is an awesome sight).

For the most part the coaches that they hired from our fallout were coaches I liked a little. Randy Jordan showed a lot of Coach Eks high intensity on great play, and what can you not say that is good about Zac Taylor getting his foot in the door there.

After all that I thought the Sherman hire was questionable and now we will see how that pans out. Hopefully better than staying home for the holidays.

Also wasn't the rumor that Byrne wanted to hire Bob Stoops when TO appointed Frank the tank

a lot of them live in nebraska?
studying soil content or something
did the know the state soil of Nebraska is Holdrege?
I'd forgotten that.

I did my internship for the USDA-Soil Conservation Service and grew up in Holdrege.

I can't remember why I insisted they name it that.
