Didn't want to put this in the actually basketball thread so thought I'd put it here. A guy I know has coached Akoy's girlfriend who plays softball at NU and apparently has met Akoy. Apparently his plan is to obviously attend Georgetown and if he does not have a shot at the NBA will transfer here for one season under the graduate transfer rule. Obviously pure speculation and a lot could change but thought it was an interesting topic.

I know him personally, but haven't got a chance to talk to him in awhile. In all honesty, this wouldn't surprise me one bit if he came back for one season. He's been hearing what a lot of people have been saying that he was a bust and never should have gone to that level of program in the first place. All of the criticism is understandable, but I'm sure he would love to come back and be an integral part in taking this program to the next level. However, I also wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he doesn't see the value in coming back for one year and potentially being a part of a team that consistently is near the bottom of the B1G. I really hope he does come back, because I know he would be an immediate asset to the team. I just don't know if it would really be worth it for him.

Would have been handy to actually make a push for him when we had the chance.
This still frustrates me to this day. No offense to Jack, but what in the world are you thinking taking McVeigh over Akoy here. Even at that time, you were in dire needs of a big, and you basically had one fall in your lap (Akoy) and you decided another 6'7" wing would be a better get. I'm sorry, but I will never agree with Miles on this one.

I can assure you Akoy won't be transferring back to Lincoln anytime soon. He's happy where he's at and kind of thinks its funny that people around always seem to find a way to link him to rumors about transferring back here.
