Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson and safety Laurence Jones were arrested early Tuesday morning in Monroe, La., on charges of possession of narcotics and possession of stolen firearms, according to Monroe Police Department.

Bond for Robinson was set at $750 and was also charged with illegally carrying a weapon.

According to the police report, the arrests took place in a parking lot of a park at 2:23 a.m. after an officer approached Robinson's car smelling marijuana. The officer also spotted a handgun on the lap of the passenger.

A bag of marijuana was also seen in the floorboard, while the stolen handgun was found under Robinson's seat.

If this is the O-lineman that Bama kept, it makes me wonder what the juco OT did last week to get dismissed from the team? LINK

Prosecution of Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson and safety Laurence "Hootie" Jones has been declined, according to a filing from the Ouachita Parish (Louisiana) district attorney's office.

The filing cites insufficient evidence, for Robinson, on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and illegal possession of a stolen firearm and, for Jones, possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Both were arrested in mid-May in their hometown of Monroe, Louisiana. A court appearance set for late last week was delayed before Monday's news.

"I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I'm doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men who have spent their adolescence and teenage years, working and sweating, while we were all in the air conditioning," district attorney Jerry Jones told KNOE-TV.

Got to be the first time I've ever heard of criminal charges being dropped because of a lack of air conditioning and having to work for a living!. LOL I would say the prosecutor is a Tide fan.

"I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I'm doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men..." is equal to insufficient evidence??????

This sounds like same reasoning that the judge in the Stanford rape case used.

Sad thing is, this judge very well could have just added to helping ruin these kids lives by teaching them they can get away with anything as football players.

Because is excuse for not suspending the players above we because they didn't get convicted of anything .....
