Alex Henery - Blackshirt

International Man of Mystery
Blackshirts for Alex & Adi
Husker kickers Alex Henery and Adi Kunalic received Blackshirts prior to Monday's practice in San Diego. Henery's jersey seemed sized better than the ill-fitting Blackshirt he received last year. Also of note: Niles Paul is in pads practicing. He looks real good running straight ahead but has said there is still some difficulty in making cuts. Many local high school coaches are also watching the practice as part of Nebraska's bowl coaching clinic. I was told 175 coaches signed up to attend.
Congrats to both on well-deserved honors. :thumbs

That's cool...congrats Adi and Alex.

Man, our Special Teams has a lot of work to replace those two. I highly doubt we don't drop drastically in KO coverage, Adi's leg is such a weapon.

Alex obviously can't be completely replaced, what are the options behind these two for next year. Is Maher the punter in waiting, Sade going to kick?

We are oing to really miss both, Henery is such a weapon, both kicking and punting. The kid is going to go high in the draft I think. Will be fun to watch him in the NFL.

Who is this kicker I hear we offered a scholarship to? I hear he can kick 57 yarders consistantly. Is it rumor or truth?

Alex obviously can't be completely replaced...
Hehe well, since he's the best *ever* it's extraordinarily unlikely that anyone will come along to NU in our lifetimes that will be considered his equal. Statistically speaking, I mean... :)

The chump who is sitting in for Rome this week was talking trash about kickers yesterday... I started to get pretty cheesed off for all of the kickers like Alex who have saved their teams' collective butts. I love looking like a nut and yelling at my radio in my car... At least with hands-free phone's being so common, it might look like I'm in the middle of some heated business deal... I can hope.

Congrats to Alex and Adi. Wished they would've received them earlier in the year however. This late in the year makes it seem like they're token Blackshirts.

It seems like this along with Groves, West, and a couple of the others receiving Blackshirts, is the time-honored tradition of all defensive seniors receive a Blackshirt prior to their final game. It used to be the final home game, but I think that this is what happened.

I don't know if this is this year or last year but nonetheless....
