Caputo getting blown up in the A&M game is probably the reason Martinez was never the same as a runner. Big heart, but I would go with Hickman or Jackson over Caputo.

Wasn't Caputo playing on a bum leg that game?

Hard for me to pick specialists like Reed in the passing game for best in an era. To me, the best possible TE can run block and catch the ball, hence my vote for McNeil.

Unfortunately both Reed and McNeil were under utilized. They at times became forgotten men on the field. I ended up picking McNeil because of his overall 'tight end' skills. Reed didn't have the blocking skills.

Both should have seen more passes thrown their way.
