Pedro Guerrero

Team HuskerBoard
This is #2 for the Defensive End position. It is all the players from the previous poll not named Wistrom plus Kyle Vanden Bosch, Mike Rucker, and Chad Kelsay. If I still missed who you want to vote for select Other and type them in.

Since most people are to young to remember Willie Harper, I will add some info. Hope that is ok. If not beat me.

1972 Washington D.C. Pigskin Club Defensive Player of the Year

1972 & 71 First-Team All-American

1972 & 71 First-Team All-Big 8

1970 Honorable Mention All-American

1970 Orange Bowl Outstanding Lineman

Played 10 + years in the NFL

This was a hard one...my choices was Harper, Rucker, and Vanden Bosch...had to go with Rucker though, he was good and consistent, solid player....but it was a tough choice between those guys - they were all good.

KVB is a machine who didn't slow up one bit the entire game. Easy vote I thought. Others were good but not at the same pace as KVB was.

I can't say I've ever seen a Nebraska player control a game from the DE spot like KVB did against Northwestern in the 2000 Alamo Bowl. He literally shut down Northwestern's offense, which put up fantastic numbers all year, for the whole game.

Where is Grant Wistrom?

I had to go with Harper for his impact on that team at that time. Big difference maker on the field. Lots of good names not on the list is a testament to NU tradition
