Another Husker not awarded for his hard work

Lavonte David was screwed for the B1G defensive player of the year and now he lost the Butkus award to the Boston College LB Luke Kuechly.

First it was Alex Henery last year not David. Sad not seeing Davids name on the North part of the stadium under the big screen.

The dude had 191 tackles this season.

I agree with you that this is sad, but LD will be rewarded for his hardwork during the draft. As much as I would love to see some more deserved hardware coming into Lincoln, it is always nice to see Huskers projected, and more importantly taken, in the first or second rounds of the draft.

Have any two-year players made it under the big screen at Memorial Stadium? If anyone would, wouldn't Farley?

What's your argument with the B1G defensive player?
I don't have one, he should of gotten that one.

To compare David not winning the Butkus with Henery is wrong though. Henery got jobbed, David had an amazing season but so did Kuechly. Husker players aren't the only great ones in this country, no complaints from me.

If anyone but Luke Kuechly would have won it I would have said hose job. But this is the one LB out there that if I were starting a football team would have picked ahead of Lavonte.

My thoughts exactly.

I thought either David or Kuechly would have got it, but David finished second to last. Yeah Henery got hosed last year, but David was up against some very good talent. I think that he once again got underrated and that he will show his true talent at the next level.

Kuechly deserved it.. No complaints.

The big 10 defensive player of the year is a whole different story.

Most are saying mid to late third round I think I heard the other day. Too small is the NFL concern, situational player. I do not agree with it, but he won't be bringing in first round cash.

He'll have to prove his worth first...cuz of his size.

While I love to play devils advocate and disagree with you Huskers I think you're right about the Defensive player of the year thing. Just looking at stats David had a better year than Still.

I sympathize, it sucks. I feel the same way about Ball and Richardson.

I think this may be a case of being short sighted and only seeing Husker Red, to be fair. David probably had the fact that he was a transfer held against him in some regards. He had a great year, did a good job last season. For that he will see his reward in the NFL, that I am sure of.
