Yeah, the current trend is more RPOs and plays that give a QB run look but are usually predetermined handoffs, rather than 00s-10s zone reads.

Plus now that players are getting paid (legally), QBs aren't nearly as 'cheap' as they used to be, so there's more desire to protect them.

If he could have completed short passes, he probably would have been thr best QB we ever had. It was do bizarre he struggled with the easiest passes, but was right on the money on some of the toughest throws.
 
Justin Evans was asked about Colandrea, and the first thing out of his mouth is that Colandrea is "a breath of fresh air."

Which probably says a thing or two about what it was like with Raiola around...

Man idk. It was so frustrating watching him sometimes. Remember the game we would have won if he just would have run the damn ball. Illinois I believe. And he was arrogant as hell, like here was TF without the results. I never cared for him honestly.

TA is one my favorite players all time. If he had an All American offensive and defensive line like TF did, on any of his teams, hindsight would be drastically different

Hate to say it but the converse is also true. If Tommie Frazier played with almost any post-Osborne defense, we wouldn't be talking about Tommie Frazier.

Tommie Frazier was a career 49.5% passer with 7.5 yards per attempt. Tommy Armstrong was 53.2% and 7.6. Tommy had enough attempts to go along with his interceptions that the int. ratio wasn't that much worse than Tommie's. Frazier had the better rushing stats, but not by that much.

Tommy Frazier just won, and was the perfect captain for a well-oiled and assembled offensive machine. We argue about offensive identity a lot on this board, but if Nebraska could rediscover its Blackshirt ways, the offense would suddenly look a lot better.

I imagine Tom Osborne would have taken Taylor Martinez, Tommy Armstrong, Adrian Martinez, Joe Ganz, and Zac Taylor over many of the quarterbacks he had to work with.

Tommy is probably the 'worst' of these guys at the position and even he would be talked about by Nebraska fans and everyone as an all-time great if he played on a 90s Nebraska team.
