I don't think Husker fans realize how entrenched they are in the Bo-era style of zone read, which was probably an emotional connection to the Osborne glory years because the style of play had quite a bit of crossover.
I would take a Tommy again in a heart beat. He just needed better aware and football IQ when throwing but he was tough as hell and a baller.
Justin Evans was asked about Colandrea, and the first thing out of his mouth is that Colandrea is "a breath of fresh air."
Which probably says a thing or two about what it was like with Raiola around...
True. But Tommy gunz was still fun to watch. If he could have completed short passes, he probably would have been thr best QB we ever had. It was do bizarre he struggled with the easiest passes, but was right on the money on some of the toughest throws.
Man idk. It was so frustrating watching him sometimes. Remember the game we would have won if he just would have run the damn ball. Illinois I believe. And he was arrogant as hell, like here was TF without the results. I never cared for him honestly.True. But Tommy gunz was still fun to watch.

Yolo bomb!Tommy Arm-so-strong
Tommy Arm-so-strong
TA is one my favorite players all time. If he had an All American offensive and defensive line like TF did, on any of his teams, hindsight would be drastically different
I imagine Tom Osborne would have taken Taylor Martinez, Tommy Armstrong, Adrian Martinez, Joe Ganz, and Zac Taylor over many of the quarterbacks he had to work with.
