When you hear the old announcement over the loud speaker before kick-off, "It's gameday, at Nebraska."

Who originally said that? Is it an old radio call, etc?

I think it was probably the PA announcer in the stadium at sometime in the past and then just passed down over the years.

those four words might as well be "a-ten-hut!" locks me in everytime. teachers in nebraska would do well to start their class off with those words.

I know its not him in that u tube vid, but I believe Keith Jackson liked to say those words when he was doing our games on tv..

When I used to listen to the Huskers on the radio back in the 80's, I would tune in and listen to nearly all of the pregame stuff. I remember when the local station cut to the Husker feed. The radio announcer would say....Nebraska Football is on the Air!
