Are We Due?

I was looking at some of the past games and 3 out 4 were decided by three or less points. You can go back even further and see that this has been a pretty close series. All of these games were won by Texas so I think it is time the football gods smile on us again and give us a Big XII Championship!!!

not saying that we will win, but... we are due to pull of a big game just in general. we have a lot of upsets lately that either lost us the game or gave them the chance to win it. we are way past due to pull off the big upset. it has been since 2001 and there have been way too many heartbreaks caused by one in a million plays that allowed the other team to win. now it is our turn.

we always have played well against texas we dont always win but they are close games i agree with the way the games have played out lately (terrance nunn's drop sticks out in my mind) we are overdue for a win. but texas is a very good football team this year.

what was that one game when we intercepted the ball inside the five and then they fumbled the interception giving them a fresh set of downs in which they scored...(i think it was against TTU, but it was awhile ago).

It all started with a 4th and inches rollout in 96, then a little man named Major in 98, Buckhalter's fumble on the goal line in 99, Lord interception in 02, Vince Young in 03 (all that has to be said there), Nunn's fumble in 06, "COSGROVE" in 07. Seems like all heartbreakers time after time when we play this program. NOW HAS TO BE TIME.

Yes, TT and it was LeKevin Smith that I was yelling to 'fall down'.....

that really sticks in my memory, but we have had a lot of those types of loses in big games, i mean it has to be more than any other team, and we never have that lucky break type of win. we have to work so hard and then it is just stolen from us... i really hope we get UT, better without luck, but i will take a win any way we can get it.

Texas grinds my gears. We had them on the ropes the last two times we've played them. We actually had the *@ won in 2006... we threw a slant pass to Terrence Nunn, who caught it PAST the first down line and proceeded to fumble. All he needed to do was hold on to the ball and we could've taken a few knees and won. They marched downfield and beat us. Then in that miserable 2007 season, we played them close and even led after 3 quarters at their place, and then they decided to start running with Jamaal Charles, who ran all over us. They win again. Keep in mind these were games under CALLY. WE DO OWE THEM ONE. Let's just deliver the knockout punch this time

I'm trying to keep from setting myself up for frustration, but I'm getting goosebumps on my skin that somehow, someway, this group is going to play the best game of their lives. I have a feeling it will be a close game, and there is going to be a HUGE momentum shift by our Defense. Nebraska is in the Big XII North because of their never give up attitude. They have the "eye of the tiger" man, the edge. Nebraska has nothing to lose and everything to gain. I want to see the Zac Lee with that look in his eyes like he got the TKO. I know the game is in Texas, but Nebraska has always been a great traveling fan base. Nebraska vs Florida was like a home game and the announcers wondered how so many Cornhusker Fans got a hold of tickets.

It's time Huskers. Lets unleash the beast. No Retreat and No Surrender.

This is the rationale I used when I predicted beating OU. Everyone else, with the exception of Red Gixxer (who I think was joking), were saying we were gonna lose. What? That one no longer counts as a big win? A game where people were counting the multitude of touchdowns we were gonna lose by.

it really was not a huge upset, it was a good game (i thought we would win, honest). it seemed bigger because of how lousy NU was playing, but OU was down with injuries and NU had the potential to compete. that game seemed like a bigger upset because of the wheels coming off of the NU fanbase... but here we are, and i think OU and NU are a lot alike this year (both got blown out by TTU) and hopefully that means we can compete with UT.
