This guy from Oklahoma writes an article about how horrible it is that Oklahoma has to play outdoors in chilly weather and thinks the big 12 is stupid for not playing these games in domes every year. Am I the only one who thinks football is MEANT to be played outside!!!!! Now I really hope NU puts the beating on OU. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!! I really hate football played in domes maybe I'm just a traditionalist, what are your thoughts?

You have to remember, in Oklahoma, if the weatherman just mentions snow, ice or sleet, schools close, the salt trucks come out and the state goes into widespread panic.

I much prefer the games be played out outside. If there's snow on the field or it's raining buckets, it adds to the mystique. The Texas game this year will be a classic partly because of the weather.

Living in MN, I have had to sit in the inflatable toilet that they call the Metrodome and watch football.....it is the worst thing they ever invented. Football was developed outside and should stay that way. I think they should have Bowl Games here. That would throw another twist into the whole bowl picture.

Yep! I can remember one year going to a Nebraska/Kansas game in Kansas. The snow was up to our knees! Once we got to our seats, we put our feet and legs in garbage bags to keep them dry and warm! The good ol' days! Football weather is supposed to chilly and brisk. (Of course, sitting in the sun isn't bad either!)

I love football outdoors. The Monday night game in Seattle was great to watch. Speaking of Minnesota, I used to go to Vikings games when they were at the old outdoor staduim, and feel the team lost its advantage when they moved into the dome.

The amazing thing about it is that most warm-weather teams don't have domes, and in the early part of the season they have the advantage when a "cold-weather" teams has to play in their conditions. But the reverse isn't true.

In the pros, I can kinda understand it - they worry about the fans not showing up. That's not the case in college.

I went to 2 games this year at home, Nichols State and Texas, the weather sucked for both but i didnt complain, they are just covering up for when they loose the game to cold weather.

:bonez :bonez :bonez

I prefer investing in clothing and other supplies to keep the players warm and healthy.

Many people work in the cold year round.

Domes perpetuate the attitude that doing things in cold weather has to be avoided.

It should remain an obstacle to overcome.

I love how Thompson said "We have played in ONE cold weather game this year, so we'll manage.

Picture this guys...Texas game without the fumble...Oh yes. :bonez
