ashamed of my team

i am a teacher in kansas city, ks so i have taken alot of crap from my students because of this nebraska team and i will admit i am embarrassed, ashamed, hurt, sad, etc.... because of them

BUT like i tell the KU, KSUCKS, Mizzou kids that i have, the difference between a nebraska fan and any of those is i will still be there next week...we have had over 45 years of sell outs and if someone asked me today if i wanted to goto the game in lincoln next week i would be there...when we were 5-100 or whatever a few years ago i went to many games (since the tickets were cheap).....

we need to remember, no matter how bad we get, no matter how much we hate the coach and AD, no matter whatever the problem, the difference between nebraska fans is that we are educated in football and we are loyal to our team.....

All i am saying is no matter what, we as fans need to support the players and still wear our red husker jersey in the middle of a bar when the KU-KSU game is going on (like i did this saturday) and we need to represent NU football as the great traditional team it is. it may suck right now but it will get better and no matter what we need to be there for it!!!!!!

As i tell my students, Husker football is not a sport, it is a religion for us

Just keep this in mind...

I'm in a similar situation here...

I put up the Nebraska "N" on my computer background today...and my students asked me why.

I told them,

"We'll all stick together in all kinds of weather, for dear ol' Nebraska U!"

Well, not exactly, but something like that...

 
Exactly as Nebraska fans we still have to be there. I am still a fan. Like Ive been telling everyone at work, school, etc. Im not a bandwogoner, and if anyone in Nebraska says they are no longer a fan move to boulder. Support the players on this team, dont say your going to boycott memorial stadium, plenty of people want your seats ME say everything you want about the coaching staff, their getting paid and not doing anything. But be there for the players

 
I'll support our players...once they show me that they actually give a sh#t. Right now our volleyball team plays harder than these guys do.

Stick together and stick with your team. Wear that "N" or adorn it on your computer or car with pride, no matter what ANYONE says. In fact, the more they say the more you should throw it back in their face when you tell them, "times change."

Nebraska football, although with a replete history of tremendous winning seasons, means a lot more than just wins and losses. Nebraska football is one of the greatest traditions in college football and it means more than just that.

I'm serious. Be proud of the GOOD, CLEAN, HARD-FIGHTING, DO WHAT'S RIGHT blood that pours through Husker veins. You will return to prominence, and I for one will raise my fist and say "D*MN RIGHT!" when that happens.

Hang in there Husker faithful. These are the times that test the best, and it's no match for you and the always proud Husker Nation; you will ultimately prevail.

Sooner Fan with BIG respect for the Huskers..
