You know. Harrison Beck did have an impact as a true freshman. He most likely saved the '05 season by completing a 3rd (or 4th was it?) and long and leading us to a game winning field goal against Kansas St in '05 after being inserted for an injured Zac Taylor. Without that win, we have to win @Colorado just to be bowl eligable. Imagine missing a bowl game 2 consecutive years. Thanks to Harrison.

Interesting thought, had this not happened, does Callahan get the axe first? Rather than Pederson?

I dont know about the whole axe. But I guarantee you, if the wheels come off, and we lose at Colorado and miss a bowl for the 2nd straight year as opposed to what really happened by winning the last 3 games and building all that momentum, it woulda been awfully doomy gloomy throughout huskernation that offseason as opposed to looking ahead with hope which is what I presume what was pretty much going on throughout.

I'd say good teams have good players regardless of year/class.

I don't think that Mike Brown played allot as a Fr., mostly mop up and special teams, iirc.
