Yeah, good catch. It was just a typo. So I changed #5 to Calvin Jones.I assume Calvin Clark is supposed to be Calvin Jones.
Fryer and Gill were not RBs.Ever go back and look at the RBs we had on the 1982 roster? We had Roger Craig, Mike Rozier, Irving Fryer, Turner Gill, and Tom Rathman. Heck, our 3rd (4th?) string I-back Jeff Smith would have started for most teams in the nation. Just an amazing collection of talent to have on the roster at the same time.
I always thought Smith was better than Rozier. He was quicker. Our offense took off when Rozier went down against Miami.Ever go back and look at the RBs we had on the 1982 roster? Yeah, hardly anyone realizes just how talented Smith was. There was a huge logjam of talent on the roster ahead of him, and he just didn't get the touches.I always thought Smith was better than Rozier. He was quicker. Very possibly #1.where would phillips rank if he hadn't found some frost on his pumpkin that fateful night?
