That stuff goes on all the time. They were trying to get into the other players heads. It said multiple times during the video Barkley and Jordan are friends. When I play my friends one on one, I play physical and talk smack also. Its not to be mean or start a fight, its competition. Just watch any NBA game nowadays and you will see the players jawing back and forth. Even college and high school for that matter.Cant say I'm a fan of that. Also can't say that I view competition as being synonymous with thuggery or confrontation. Sure, the game isn't what it used to be, but Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley touching each other often, saying mean things to each other and Isiah Thomas getting a semi-erection over it aren't what made, or continue to make, the game great.
I agree with Po. It seems like the NBA nowadays is cutting down on the physical aspect of the sport and calling anything and everything a foul and is one huge reason why I stop watching the sport. Not to mention if you foul Lebron James every announcer makes a big deal about it and you're automatically labled a dirty player because Mr. James is the King lol. That stuff goes on all the time. And you don't even know what they are saying, so you don't know if it was mean or not. The only thing you can hear is Barkley say, "that's a foul, I know its Michael Jordan." That is not a mean statement at all. For all we know they could have just been saying miss, miss, miss.
