Ball total TD record, could Taylor beat it next year?

If NU goes 11-1 or 12-0 next year, I think Taylor will be happier than if he gets lots of awards / records and the team doesn't win the BIG conference and/or go to a BCS bowl.

He won't catch Ball's rushing TDs record.

EDIT: I thought Kaepernick broke Crouch's record in 2010, but he tied it instead.

Crouch = 59 rushing TDs in 43 games (NCAA record tied with Colin Kaepernick)

Martinez = 29 rushing TDs in 38 games

I was not aware of that. thanks for the stat

The record that was being touted as Ball passed it is the Total TD number, which isn't restricted to rushing scores. Receiving scores also count, but I am pretty sure passing TDs don't count as the Passer isn't actually scoring on the play. Ball did also break the total rushing TD mark this year, which is lower than the total TD number that was repeatedly published.

That all being said, no Taylor won't pass Ball for either the total or rushing TD marks.

This isn't exactly on topic, but Kaepernick was truly great at Nevada.

And no, Taylor will not get the record. But having two conference championships would be nice for him I'm sure.

Even further off topic, Kaepernick saw some playing time against Nebraska in 2007, going 1/3 for negative one yard. I was at that game, and I knew right then that 2007 was going to be a special year.
