He was quoted in the RMN today that the problem his club has is the players listening to the media about the team's chances. He said that they apparently were expected to win handily against us and took us too lightly. He wants his players shielded from reading how bad they will be against UT.

Is that why they bang on the visitor's locker room wall and scream taunts during the warm up period at the 50 yard line. It sounds like they wouldn't act like that except or those doggone news reports.

Are you Husker fans glad that they face the buzzsaw Sat or would it be better if they stayed home and prepared the entire time for their bowl game?

Those darm sports reporters....ruining everything!!!

Oh, and what if their potential recruits read amd listen to the same.. oh noooo!!!

 
There are ways to pump up your team and then there are ways to pump up your team. Barnett has been taking the wrong approach and that's why CU is what it is today. There was always some type of mutual respect between NU and CU under RN but Barnett took it to an extreme by stomping on team logo's, pounding on opponents lockers and getting in thier face in the middle of the field and trying to start something.

:yeah Players are a reflection of their coach! I have always thought that he was overrated.

 
Barnett has fueled the flames between CU and NU IMO. Saturday can't come soon enough.

I want CU to get stomped thoroughly and then let Texas, the ONLY Big 12 team that has the skill (atm), beat USC in the national championship game and bring it home to our conference.

I have never liked UT. I probably will root for USC. The analogy would be for me rooting for anyone playing the Raiders, who are in the same division as my Broncos.

Guess which 2 teams we get to play next year?

 
This reminded me of something from another article, one already posted in a different thread i think.. (http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_3255784)

DPost's Kizla patted Barney on the back for taking the blame for the loss:

"Did you notice Barnett took full responsibility for the Nebraska loss? Bohn did."

maybe Kizla should have waited a couple days for Barnett to find a scapegoat-- the media. Not that its a new blame target, they blamed the media for the recruiting scandal too.

later in Kizla's article.

"Of course, you cannot spell "excuse" without a CU."

you mean like the ELEVEN players they apparently had visiting for the NU game (according to Scout)? almost as many as they had to all their other games Combined. :thumbs

I'm sure Barnett is trying to convince the recruits that didn't attend the game that the fan debacle in Boulder was mostly a media fabrication.
