Basketball Scheduling Impact of the “Alliance” with PAC12 + ACC

Not sure it will make much difference for NU hoops unless there becomes a B1G/Pac12 challenge.

There is already 2 conference challenges with the Gavitt games & the ACC/B1G challenge. I'm not sure the conference would start a third.

It’s my understanding Gavitt Games will go away after the contract with FOX ends, although that could obviously change in the future.

If it does it will be because the "Power 4/5" don't want to share. I'm all for telling the Big east to go fly a kite, but I don't think it should be over money when there is already too much going toward college sports.

I think it’s somewhat mutual with the Big East having a full round robin still and UConn coming into the league for 20 games.

I agree this type of “Alliance” is not necessarily good for college hoops as a whole though. The “Power 4” need to keep playing games against the other 3 high major leagues (AAC/BE/B12) moving forward. It’s already hard enough for teams in the A10, MWC, etc to schedule high profile games, don’t need more consolidation amongst the “Big 4” if you will on the scheduling front going forward.
