New Bedford, MA -- New Bedford city councilors are considering urging state legislators to ban pellet, B-B and replica guns that aren't brightly colored and clearly fakes.

The council is scheduled to vote tomorrow on a proposal that would serve as an advisory to the Legislature.

Tomorrow's vote comes after a New Bedford police officer last month shot and killed a man who had drawn a pellet gun.

The advisory measure's chief supporter, Brian Gomes, says he hopes future tragedies could be prevented through a ban on fake firearms that can confuse police.

Back in the day. Wazzup. We all had lever action bb guns and pellet guns. Most REASONABLE people don't point them at Law Enforcement Officers. Especially when they tell you to drop the weapon. DUH Course there weren't Eleventy Billion wack jobs that actually try it. Just another attempt to justify Darwin's theory about thinning the herd.

If someone was to pull some of the damn BB guns they do in fact sell on me I wouldn't take the time to look at it and try and figure out if it was a real gun or a fake one because if it was real I would be dead..........I wouldn't have a choice and I guess I wouldn't feel bad if they were stupid enough to pull a BB gun that looks like a real gun after I was forced to shoot them............State law says what would a reasonible person do in the same situation........ :dunno
