Bears should give young Vick a shot

The right side of the page lists the incidents involving Marcus Vick over the last 2+ years. I counted 10 various run-ins in that short time. granted they are mostly minor incidents. He's not exactly a Lawrence Phillips, more like a juvenile delinquent. but minor or not, that many run-ins generally indicates a pattern of behavior and its probably not going to stop any time soon.

but, this writer says the Bears should take a chance on him, partly b/c:

The Chicago Bears team leaders on offense and defense have had similar problems in their careers: Safety Mike Brown has made obscene gestures at Bears fans, and center Olin Kreutz has broken the jawns of two teammates in the past 10 years.
wow, there's a skewed logic. 2 team leaders with incidents similar to just one of the things on Vick's list.

basically like saying "we can find 10 players who, combined, have a rap sheet comparable to Vick's, so he really isn't that bad".

Vick will likely be given a chance in the NFL. fine, good for him. but what a stupid argument in defending the guy.

maybe this writer would also love to see TO (much worse than Vick) in a Bears uniform. Clarrett is still a free agent too, isn't he?

I watched Vick on the combine yesterday and he didn't look very impressive at all. He ran a 4.42 40, but that was about it. Jay Cutler made him look like a Jr. High QB. I agree with you GJ, they are trying to make excuses for Vick, and I don't get it. He is a spoiled brat who needs a good a$$ kicking and possibly some "befriending" in prison to put him in his place.
