i was just wandering how many people have been to a beef game and are regulars, if not you should at least see one game
Don't forget Damon Benning(not sure if he still coaches), but he was a couple years ago. None other than Randy Stella plays for them as well.Omaha Beef
The team has had several University of Nebraska (Lincoln and Omaha) players including Calvin Jones, Clinton Childs, Vershon Jackson, Dwayne Harris, Jamar Day, and more. I believe that Tony Veland is still an assistant coach for the team.
He may have been operations, I thought he might have been a coach too. I know he used to come into my brother in law's bar with the rest of the players after games.Benning played for the Lincoln Lightning/Capitols before they folded. Did he ever play for the beef? I don't know if he coaches...but I think at one time he was in the operations/player management offices.
I think that Arena Football games are fun to watch...especially in person. It is a very quick/fast-paced game, not a lot of down time and the players are 'right there' in front of you as opposed to 100 yards away in a big stadium. The game has been around obviously for quite awhile, but the amount of coverage they are getting now from ESPN and NBC is really making this a big sport.I just noticed the Beef are going to play here in July against the Ohio Valley Greyhouds. It's in Wheeling and I live about 20 minutes away. Thinking about going. I know the rules are different etc. Are there any local guys playing? Is it interesting to watch?
