Best story, Rudy or Jason McElwain?

Both are amazing stories, Jason doesnt make JV and becomes the student manager. Coach suits him up for the last game and he gets to play after the team is up by 20 points.

Rudy walks on to ND, plays on the scout team and never suits up until the last game, gets in during the last minutes of the game and gets a sack, and is the only player in ND history to get carried off the field by the team.

tough call

I would have to say Rudy. Arguably one of the best football movies of all time. Rudiger was the only player to ever to be carried off of the field in NDs 100+ years in college football. That says alot.

Jason back on the bench the next game.
Rudy was at Notre Dame. <_<

Can there really be a winner here?
:rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :yeah

I'll go with Jason. Screw the Gold-dome NBC'ers.

And IIRC, wasn't Jason not eligible for the playoffs anyway, hence why he was back on the bench?

I thought that I read somewhere that in real life Rudy did not actually make a sack on the last play. I also read that he was not on the kickoff team either. The movie just added those last two things to make the ending a little bit better.

Personally my favorite football movie was "Friday Night Lights". I know some people will dis-agree. But I really liked it. :horns2
They changed that movie wayyyyy too much for the theater. The last game wasn't even played in a dome, it was outside in the rain.

Friday night lights is my favorite. The book however was better. Gives you a feel for Texas H.S. football. Same way in Pennsyvania for H.S. Wrestling. There are some small towns in PA that after a Kid won a State championship, they name the street he lived on after him.
