Best Tailgating

I have a group of seven Husker fans coming down for the Colorado game. We would love to tailgate before the game and really want to take in what Lincoln has to offer. We were planning on drinking and grilling out before the game. Does anyone have any suggestions about the best places to go if you are going to drink and grill before the game? Do any spots take reservations and how early should we get there is we want to get a spot? Let me know, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 
For visitors like yourselves, you'll probably have to avoid the reserved parking lots. Try North of the stadium, on 10th and Military, west of the Devaney Center, and just across the street from the National Guard Armory there's a Native American community center, called the "Indian Center" with plenty of parking. I think it's $10 to park. Get there early to get a good flat spot on the south side of the compound, and you can grill and imbibe and hang out with the other tailgaters. The also have an restrooms inside (because you only rent beer).

 
The softball field parking lot is a good place that typically has room for folks like yourselves. Short walk over bridge gets you to stadium. Also pretty close to baseball/softball field bathrooms. I can't remember what parking is because we usually have someone there already so we park somewhere free and walk.

 
i recommend the haymarket ballpark lots. low-hassle. come early, do your thing, and make time either before the game, or after, to spend an hour or two walking through the tailgating action on the west/southwest side of the stadium. particularly the lots under the bridge, and past it headin south on 9th.

 
Haymarket Lots are good places to be. Fair number of tailgaters, but still some commuters so it is not to crowded. Get there early, to get a place on the grass. Will need a lot 19 or 20 hangtag which can be found. Piece of advice, don't be in a hurry to leave as traffic and tend to back-up when trying to get out of the lot. Remember that you are on University ground so cup rule is in effect. :cheers
