Just curious on who everyone thinks our main running back will be next season. As long as they both stay healthy I think we'll have a good running game though.

I think Rex will, but i have a feeling he will not get as many touches as Helu. But then again who knows. THey may run the Wildcat a lot this year. Who knows...

I feel like Helu will have more touches and therefore more yards... but Burkhead will have more YPC...

It's a wash, I still think Helu will be our #1 back and Rex will come in in the mid / late second quarter for big yards on plays.. They'll be a solid 1 - 2 this year. I'm predicting that we will have the best rushing offense this year in the big12 and roughly the 5th-4th best aerial attack.

They're both monster backs however Helu seems more injury prone. If they stay healthy all year then it wont matter who's playing, we'll be able to run all over anybody.

I like Rex's explosive quality....thinking of that play in the Holiday Bowl last year out of the Wildcat or Wildhuser or what the hell ever that formation is....

I'll vote for Burkhead because to me he's gonna end up being the better back and as mentioned above Helu ALWAYS gets hurt somehow.

Burkhead could definitely end up being better by virtue of how awesome our line has the potential to be when Rex is in the second half of his Husker career.

This question can be answered two ways. I think the better running back, in the long run, will be Burkhead. But, I think Helu is going to have a better season if you solely compare their yards by season end.

helu has one bad season because he has one nagging injury that the coaches wouldn't just bench him...does anyone not remember this guys monster sophomore year...even injury riddled last year(one nagging injury) he still put up big yards and had big plays(saved the kansas game with a big run)...i know rex is the new big thing, got to meet him and it was awesome, but i think helu will show what we all thought he would be last year

Oh yeah.....it's a no lose scenario with those two. Wow! Now, with an Oline that doesn't just do fluffball. We're back!!

You can't be better if you're chronically injured, right? Advantage Burkhead. I hope they both play really well.

I voted under the assumption that both are healthy. You cant give one the nod over the other because of injury pronness. If both are healthy, advantage Helu, but Burkhead is not far behind and probably will be a better back by the time his Senior year rolls around.

I voted Helu assuming that he could stay healthy. I think Burkhead might be a bit more consistent because he always seems to get a few extra yards after contact. However, I think Helu is a bit better as a big play threat. Long term, I'd vote Burkhead because he is apparently more durable. If health were not an issue I would stick with my Helu vote.
