SBC Big 12 Football Players Of The Week
Nov. 28, 2005
DALLAS-Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma), Michael Huff (Texas) and Scott Webb (Kansas) have been named SBC Big 12 Conference Football Players of the Week as selected by a media panel. This is the fourth career, and first this season, Offensive Player of the Week for Peterson, while Huff and Webb earn their initial Defensive and Special Teams honors, respectively.
Offensive Player of the Week
Adrian Peterson, So, RB, Oklahoma (Palestine, Texas)
Adrian Peterson ran for 237 yards and two touchdowns in Oklahoma's 42-14 win over Oklahoma State. Peterson reached paydirt on runs of 84 (career long) and 71 yards. He broke Billy Sims record (206 yards vs. Missouri in 1979), with a 210-yard second half performance, ranking as the best single-half rushing performance in OU history.
Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Huff, Sr, DB, Texas (Irving, Texas)
Michael Huff registered 10 tackles, four solo stops, five tackles for loss, one sack, a pass breakup, and caused a fumble as the Longhorns downed Texas A&M 40-29. His sack and forced fumble with six minutes left in the game thwarted the Aggies comeback hopes with Texas protecting a 37-29 lead. Huff's fifth tackle for loss ended A&M's final drive of the game.
