Big 12 Schedule Changes

I like having the conference championships, and I'd like a playoff system. College football is simply great when two good teams get together on the field, and whatever system is going to make this happen the most, that's the system I'm in favor of. Last year would have been great if Auburn, USC, OU and Utah all could have played each other somehow.

Hoy,

I agree completely. But to have Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa State or any other team last year from the North playing for a conference championship is ridiculous. It hurts the credibility of the conference. Just a freak situation but lets say that Oklahoma had a break out of the flu on game day. Colorado wins. Would any one feel they were the best team in the conference? I think that happened to us against Texas the first conference championship game. Do it on the field. There was not a team in the North last year capable of finishing 4th in the South. I just do not see that changing. We are now the 6 dwarfs of the conference. Something needs to change, but I doubt it ever will.

The best teams don't always have the best record. Sometimes early losses hurt teams late in the season, like CU in 01. I think they proved they were better than us, they proved they were better than TX in the conference championship game, but because they had 2 early losses they were denied a spot in the NC game. If a team dominates the south and faces a weak team from the north, they should blow them out like OU did last year. Shame on OU for getting out-played and out-coached by KState in 03. Same for us vs TX in the 1st title game.

I do agree about the North vs South argument now. However, NU is doing everything possible to get back to the top. We have the luxury of posessing the combination of facilities, fan support and prestige that makes the top players want to come here. No other north team has that. CU and Kstate tried. Mizzou is trying. And IA State has a lot of work to get there. That's where TX, OU, and ATM have an advantage, and why realistically we should dominate the North every year. I believe we're on track to do that.

I believe we are if the staff is as good at coaching as they are recruiting. I think they are. But if they fail with this talent, the door will close very quickly on them and the recruits that are now considering us.
