DALLAS -- Caitlin Kennedy (Texas), Jamie Klages (Nebraska) and Dianna Pfenninger (Texas) were named Big 12 Soccer Players of the Week for games played from Sept. 27-Oct. 3, the conference office announced.
Each earned her first Big 12 career honor.
Offensive Player of the Week
Caitlin Kennedy, Texas, MF, So, Euless, Texas
Kennedy tallied five points over the weekend in helping Texas to wins over Baylor and No. 13 Texas A&M. She scored her first goal of the year and picked up an assist against Baylor to set an individual-game career-best with three points. Kennedy then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal versus Texas A&M. It was the first game-winner of her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jamie Klages, Nebraska, GK, Fr, Coronado, Calif.
Klages started both games in net for Nebraska last weekend and did not allow a goal in 200 minutes. She held Kansas scoreless in a double-overtime tie before also shutting out Missouri in a Nebraska win. Klages recorded a career-high nine saves against KU and added six more saves versus MU. She has not allowed a goal in 263:56.
Newcomer of the Week
Dianna Pfenninger, Texas, GK, Fr, Sugar Land, Texas
Pfenninger evened her season record at 3-3 last week while picking up wins over Baylor and No. 13 Texas A&M. She notched her first career shutout against BU with a two-save effort. She then turned in a career-best seven-save outing against TAMU. She has a 0.86 goals against average in Big 12 play.
