Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini is just one of several different Division I head coaches that is scheduled to speak at USC's coaching clinic on Mar. 28 in Los Angeles. The event will give Pelini a great opportunity to speak in front of several top California high school football coaches.

This is AWESOME - This is HUGE for recruiting out here.

His defense is the USC defense he learned under Carroll.

He learned his D from Carroll? Thats news to me...

He should have learned under Bill Young, Or that MAN guy down there in Stillwater... <_<

I always thought he started with Monte Kiffin's cover 2 based defense.

Yeah, but he mentored under Carroll at SF and New England, I am sure influencing him quite a bit.

monte kiffin was a mentor for pete carroll when he was coming up the ranks. carroll met pelini while they were both at the 49ers and was impressed with bo's abilities as position coach. carroll eventually left san fran for new england and brought pelini along to join his new staff.

when solich was looking for a replacement for bohl back in 2k3, he called kiffin for recommendations who in turn asked carroll for his input. pelini was carroll's first and top choice.

and now you know.

Carroll tried to get his GA's jobs with Bo back when we were putting the staff together. I guess no grudges were held when that didn't happen, granted how could you expect Bo to pass on guys he's worked considerably with for GA's he just has Pete's word on?

this is good though, gives us up and coming position coach options and looks too in the future when our position coaches take different jobs...

but that's great that he's doing this and if we can get one more kid outta cali for it it's more than paid off.
